I have worked with numerous materials such as silicon, plaster molds, plumber’s epoxy, clays, alcohol and creme make ups, Free Form Air, and others.
SEVERED FINGER PROP
Using a silicon mold cast from my own finger, I made a silicon finger prop. The prop is translucent platinum silicone colored with pigments and flocking. I carved the severed edge and painted the finger to complete the effect.
After first painting the desired area with alcohol make-up, I applied melted gelatin to the arm. I pre-pigmented the gelatin with flocking. I then mixed 3rd Degree Silicone with a pigment chosen to match the actress’ skin tone. I applied the silicone to the perimeter, blending the edges of the wounds. Using a mix of alcohol make-up, make-up puss, and fake blood, I finalized the details of this burn make-up.
For this injury, I built up the wound around the lip using Mel Gel and 3rd Degree Silicone. I used creme and alcohol make-up to reach the desired bruising and gore.
